Teorema Faucets

How is a Teorema faucet created?

Teorema Rubinetterie is part of a large group: WTS SpA.

WTS SpA represents excellence in the field of faucets, a large industrial group spokesperson for the best brands in the sector projected onto the international market.

WTS means: reliability, practicality, cutting-edge design and attention to the surrounding environment.
There are several stages in the entire production process of refined design in its functional, eco-sustainable structure. The whole production cycle is based in WTS’s production facilities.

Design

Each Teorema Faucet is produced by the ingenuity and experience of WTS. In the design phase, the faucet, after concept design approval, is engineered by the technical department, requiring the use of sophisticated three-dimensional drawing software for this purpose.
And from there, it goes to the next stage, which is prototyping….

Prototyping

The step that allows the first physical experimentation of the design, creating, precisely, the prototype of the new mixer is called prototyping: for this stage, the use of a special 3D printer is required, with which the shape is refined, precisely through the analysis of the three-dimensional model, printed in ABS plastic.

Once the model is approved, we move on to the production stages…

Core Production

A foundry core is an element made of sand amalgamated with special synthetic resins and is created in a special mold called a core box. The core is extracted once it has hardened, which is when the previous sand-resin mixture is reacted by insufflation of an appropriate gaseous catalyst. The aforementioned element obtained is used to create the inner cavity of the tap body by inserting it into the mold used for casting, called a “shell.”

Melting

During the casting stage, the special mold, called the shell, is filled with a casting of molten brass, or an alloy of copper and zinc, the raw material used to cast the faucet body. From the shell (into which, before casting, the core described above is inserted) the desired body shape is then extracted.

Mechanical Processing

During the Mechanical Processing stage, the products, obtained from casting, are machined with automatic lathes, allowing, in this way, to create the mechanical devices for tapping, mixing and diverting, characteristic of taps. The latter pass through the line of Transfer machines, to be subjected to the various processing required.

Cleaning

Cleaning operations, allow the surfaces of machining products to be finely polished (using abrasive belts of different grain sizes and discs made of suitable fabrics). These processes are carried out with automatic robotic island plants, thus allowing the next steps to be taken to chromium plating treatments.

Chrome plating

Chrome plating is one of the fundamental stages in the making of a Teorema Rubinetterie faucet: the dedicated and innovative work of WTS emphasizes that galvanic treatment is as important for protecting and preserving the faucet as it is for making it a unique design element. Chrome plating consists of depositing double coatings of nickel and chrome by immersing the parts to be chrome plated in a series of baths of electrolytic solutions. The WTS ECO GREEN SYSTEM is also evident in the assiduously environmentally friendly zero-discharge chrome plating process.

Quality Control

Quality control is a careful and meticulous evaluation of the manufactured faucets: that is, it consists of a series of strict checks on the components, just coming out of the production phase, performed both dimensionally and aesthetically (for example, the chrome plating must not have imperfections).

All this is done by means of specific instruments, which check their conformity with respect to the initial technical drawings.

Assembly

At the delicate stage of assembly, the necessary components are assembled inside the faucet body.

All the various operations are carried out by means of “islands” equipped with the necessary equipment to ensure a high level of product quality.

Testing

Testing is the necessary stage that proves the entire functional characteristics, from the prestigious quality standard.

In this important production stage, the assembled products are subjected to 100% air tightness test, which is performed with high-precision electronic instrumentation. Once this test is passed, the faucet is ready to be packaged.

Packaging

The Teorema faucet is now ready to be packaged within the packaging . This step is carried out on multiple packaging lines within WTS’s production sites. The packaged faucets are allocated to the relevant warehouses and then shipped to the end customer.
